- Status : This project was tracked by Affiliates Roving Officers on the 21st of March 2025. Onwon Ediene is one of the rural communities in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Upon reaching the area, our team noticed an active construction site, with ongoing work. However, project’s description/labelling found at the site had inscription of Government of Akwa Ibom State that described the contract as “Construction of Backlog Maintenance/ Rehabilitation of Ikot Onwon Ediene-Ikot Nkwo-Ikot Idomo-Ikot Abia Nkwot (6.67KM) ”. Therefore, it is difficult for our team to know, if the Federal Government’s contract is yet to be awarded or is the same described here but duplicated.
- ACTION REQUIRED : Communities should follow up with the Federal Government’s agency listed for execution of this project, to find out, which location is their own project, if not this one. Information, we have provided here, is with a probability. Further findings or investigation are what may help to know, what is where and at which government’s instance?
